NSW Public Works, on behalf of Bellingen Shire Council, contracted Barker Ryan Stewart to provide civil engineering and associated services for multiple stormwater remediation projects.
Bellingen Shire, located south-west of Coffs Harbour, was affected by severe flooding in 2020 and 2021, resulting in damage to roads and stormwater services west near Dorrigo and south near Brierfield.
Barker Ryan Stewart provided civil engineering and infrastructure services across 6 sites. The scope of work included:
- Concept Design – reviewing documentation, undertaking site and utility inspections, and preparing concept design drawings for stormwater and road reconstruction.
- Draft Detailed Design – Collaborating and receiving feedback from Council and NSW Public Works, and refining the concept design drawings.
- Final Detailed Design – Finalising the draft detailed design drawing.
- Other Works – Obtaining subconsultants for geotechnical services, BOQ, and Cost Estimates, as well as preparing engineering plans for one site.
