Barker Ryan Stewart has been engaged by Orange City Council for the provision of engineering services including a design review, road safety audit and finalising the design documentation associated with Stage 4 of the Southern Feeder Road upgrade.
The multi-staged $14 million project forms part of the federal government’s Heavy Vehicle Safety Productivity Program, which aims to fund infrastructure projects that improve the productivity and safety outcomes of heavy vehicle operations across Australia.
Stage 4 of the project will cover approximately 2.6km of road between Anson Street west and Pinnacle Road, including the upgrade of Park and Shiralee Roads and the construction of approximately 1.2km of new road.
These upgrades will help reduce traffic congestion along Orange’s busiest streets and create safer infrastructure for the local community.
Once complete, the Southern Feeder Road will be a major transport link around the southern portion of Orange, providing a vital connection between the major highways into Orange.
The full scope of services includes:
- Preliminary and project management works
- Design Review and Investigation Report
- Detail Design Road Safety Audit
- Drainage design review and final modelling
- Amendments and finalising the design and plans suitable for construction
