Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Sims Metal Management for the provision of town planning services associated with obtaining development consent for a proposed Waste Metal Transfer Station.

The proposed development includes the relocation of their existing metal transfer station on Manns Street, to the new location in Tathra Street. This will allow the operation of a waste transfer station, receiving approximately 25,000 tonnes of scrap metal per annum.

The proposed development will have a wide range of economic, environmental and social benefits including reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the extension of landfill life.
