Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by The Hills Shire Council for the provision of surveying services associated with the street tree planting project along the northern and southern road reserves of Samantha Riley Drive in North Kellyville.
The Samantha Riley Drive final upgrade was completed in early 2022 and the street tree planting scheme is proposed to run along both sides of Samantha Riley Drive from the intersection of Redden Drive and Brampton Drive to Green Road.
The scheme forms the next phase of works identified in Council’s $272 million Capital Works Program 2022/23, which aims to support a more connected, inclusive, and vibrant region.
The survey undertaken by Barker Ryan Stewart included a 1.7km section of Samantha Riley Drive and will form the base information of the street tree planting scheme.
Barker Ryan Stewart conducted a full detail survey and traffic control management of the road corridor of a 2.2km section of Samantha Riley Drive. The completed detail survey will allow The Hills Shire Council to adequately plan suitable locations for the proposed street trees while avoiding critical services and infrastructure in the newly upgraded road corridor.
Barker Ryan Stewart was relied heavily upon to locate existing surface features not yet updated in the DBYD database. The detail survey also forms part of Councils Works-As-Executed package over the newly upgraded carriageway to allow for the closeout of one of the largest capital works projects ever undertaken by The Hills Shire Council.
Barker Ryan Stewart was able to successfully complete the project on this major arterial road with minimal disruption to public and traffic flows.
The full scope of services included the provision of:
- Detail and Works-As-Executed survey
- Organising and managing the traffic control
