Rhodes Central Precinct

Infrastructure and Civil Engineering

Rhodes Central is a masterplanned precinct set to rivatilise the area from an industrial peninsular, into a thriving residential community. This monumentally designed precinct will offer a dynamic urban village lifestyle with captivating far-reaching views.

Stage 1 of the development includes a 39-storey and 25-storey tower comprising 548 apartments above a 12,000 sqm shopping centre. The 39-storey tower will feature a distinctive golden heliostat atop, establishing itself as a landmark for Rhodes in the Sydney skyline. To complement these towers, the proposed following stage of the development will include another three towers and a $70 million community centre.

Ideally located adjacent to the train station, the $2.5 billion mixed-use precinct will offer substantial lifestyle retail and fresh market stores, an indoor recreation centre, and laneway dining all situated around a vibrant public plaza.

Barker Ryan Stewart was engaged by Billbergia for the provision of civil engineering design services for the public domain works, including road and footpath reconstruction and intersection improvements, associated with the Rhodes Central Precinct development.

The full scope of services included the upgrade designs of the surrounding roads, a signalised intersection and driveway accesses into the northern buildings and towers. The design of the footpath areas incorporated smart poles, landscaping and pedestrian facilities, and was undertaken in collaboration with Council and the client.
