Bridges Hill Park to Wine Country Drive Shared Pathway
Barker Ryan Stewart is assisting Cessnock City Council with the provision of civil design and surveying services required for the construction of a new shared pathway connecting Bridges Hill Park and Wine Country Drive.
The 5.3km shared pathway aims to improve pedestrian and cyclist connectivity, commencing at Bridges Hill Park at Dowlan Street in Cessnock, to Wine Country Drive at Lomas Lane in Nulkaba.
The pathway includes planned pedestrian refuges for Maitland Road, Allandale Road and Wine Country Drive required to be carried out under the TfNSW Works Authorisation Deed (WAD) approval process.
The $3.4 million project forms part of the State Government’s NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program, which aims to deliver quality public open space for communities across NSW.
The design issued by Barker Ryan Stewart covers Stage 2 of the project, commencing at the intersection of Wine Country Drive and Fleming Street and continuing along Wine Country Drive North, before finishing at the intersection of Lomas Lane adjacent to St Phillip’s Christian College in Cessnock.
Upon completion, the active transport corridor will provide a safe and accessible connection for pedestrians and cyclists between residential areas and community facilities including schools and parks.
