Barker Ryan Stewart is providing civil engineering design services to assist Upper Hunter Shire Council with the improvement and initial seal of Barrington Tops Forest Road in Moonan Brook.
The upgrade of the existing unsealed gravel road will start approximately 0.1km from the intersection with Moonan Brook Road and continue for approximately 11.3km to the Barrington Tops National Parks gate.
The proposed upgrade works will include pavement sealing and rehabilitation, re-profiling the road longitudinal grades and cross falls as required, drainage upgrades where required, line marking and signage, and safety improvements.
Once complete, the upgraded road will provide improved access to the World Heritage-listed Barrington Tops National Park between Scone and Gloucester, helping to boost tourism within the region and support the local economy.
It will also significantly benefit the local community and primary industries by providing a reliable road network connecting Gloucester and Scone, and improved road safety outcomes.
The concept design phase has been completed and we are currently working through the detail design phase including additional site investigations. We are proud to assist Council in delivering high-quality infrastructure and increased connectivity for the local Upper Hunter community.

- Project planning
- Site investigations including geotechnical and environmental services
