Registered Surveyor / Surveyor – Sydney

We currently have a Registered Surveyor (or a Graduate Surveyor working towards registration through BOSSI) position available in our Sydney office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and growth of the survey team.
  • Provision of survey services as a Registered Surveyor / Surveyor both in the office and on-site, including regional areas.
  • Potential for Survey Manager role for the right person.
  • Providing surveying services which are fit for purpose, practical, cost-effective, comply with relevant surveying and regulatory standards, and comply with WHS and Quality Control requirements.
  • Undertake and assist in the preparation of quotations and tenders.
  • Manage, supervise, train and develop staff reporting to this position.

Required Experience:

  • Extensive experience in land development, subdivisions, strata, construction – both building and civil, identification and detail surveys.
  • Experience in supervising projects.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • Proficient in the use of 12d and AutoCAD software and relevant survey equipment and software such as Trimble and Trimble Business Centre.
  • Experience in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) surveying is advantageous. 
  • Experience in Laser Scanning with collating and processing data is advantageous.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, with clients and staff.
  • Develop and improve templates and internal survey processes and practices.  

Senior Civil Designer – Sydney

We have a position available for a Senior Civil Designer to take the lead design role on our more complex road infrastructure projects to help assist in the successful delivery of quality designs to our key government clients.

We are looking to further develop in the infrastructure sector, and this lead Senior Civil Designer role would play a key part in working closely with our Design Manager and other key staff in winning and delivering targeted projects to drive growth. 

Although we are advertising for a Sydney-based role, we are happy for the right candidate to work from either our Central Coast or Hunter offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of civil engineering and infrastructure designs, specifications, models and supporting documentation.
  • Providing designs which are fit for purpose, practical, cost effective, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and comply with WHS and Quality Control requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities.
  • Work closely with engineering team members to clarify design and/or documentation issues throughout the design, documentation and construction phases.
  • Proactively plan, manage, coordinate, track and run assigned projects tasks.
  • Liaise with clients and take ownership of projects.
  • Provide regular project reviews and reporting to the Hunter Manager and Directors as required.
  • Conduct thorough self-checking of designs, information, drawings and documentation.
  • Maintaining project files and keeping documentation in order.
  • Assign and check work of technical staff assigned to work on a project.
  • Provide technical advice to management, staff and clients.
  • Undertake site inspections as required.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings.
  • Perform general office duties as required.
  • Adopt continuous learning and improvement processes in all aspects of the position.
  • Implement, participate and promote Company Policies, processes and procedures.

Required Experience:

  • Certificate III in Drafting Trades, Diploma in Civil Engineering and/or University Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Australia, or equivalent.
  • WorkCover Site Induction Training Card.
  • A Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
  • 10+ years previous Council and TfNSW (RMS) road infrastructure design experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with 12d design package.
  • Strong road and infrastructure design skills.
