Civil Engineer/Designer – Coffs Harbour, Northern Rivers or South East Queensland Office Locations
We currently have a Civil Engineer/Designer position available to assist with growing our design team and to work on our subdivision, development and council road infrastructure projects. The position is available in our Coffs Harbour, Northern Rivers or South East Queensland office locations.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of civil engineering and infrastructure road designs, specifications, models and supporting documentation.
- Providing designs that are fit for purpose, practical, cost-effective, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and comply with WHS and Quality Control requirements.
- Work closely with engineering team members to clarify design and/or documentation issues throughout the design, documentation and construction phases.
- Reviewing the work of draftspersons designs, information, drawings and documentation.
- Provide technical advice to management, staff and clients
About you:
- Certificate III in Drafting Trades, Diploma in Civil Engineering and/or University Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Australia, or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge and experience with 12d and/or Civil 3D design package.
- Good working knowledge and experience with DRAINS and MUSIC design packages
- Strong road and infrastructure design skills.
Traffic Engineer – Norwest or Newcastle Office Locations
Barker Ryan Stewart currently seeking a Traffic Engineer, to work from either the Norwest or Newcastle Barker Ryan Stewart offices, to assist with an exciting and challenging range of traffic and infrastructure projects.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of traffic and infrastructure projects across NSW..
Key responsibilities:
- Undertake traffic engineering services tasks on projects, both in the office and on site.
- Preparation of Traffic and Car Parking Impact Assessment Reports, and Construction Traffic Management Plans.
- Management, planning, co-ordination of traffic counts and car park surveys.
- Undertake SIDRA modelling.
- Undertake car park and loading bay design assessments to ensure design compliance with AS/NZS 2890.1, AS 2890.2 and AS/NZS 2890.6.
- Prepare or review swept path plans.
- Undertake site inspections during and post construction to ensure car park works comply with AS/NZS 2890.1, AS 2890.2 and AS/NZS 2890.6.
- Undertaking of Road Safety Audits (once accredited).
- Attend and participate in client, Council and TfNSW meetings, as required.
- Provide technical advice to management, staff and clients.
- Liaison, coordination and management of clients, sub consultants, authorities and contractors.
About you:
- University Degree in Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia.
- 5+ years previous traffic engineering experience within a consultancy or local government.
- Sound knowledge in the preparation of Traffic and Parking Impact Assessments.
- Sound knowledge in car park design and works compliance assessments.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the TfNSW ‘Guide to Transport Impact Assessment’ and ‘Guide to Traffic Generating Developments’.
- Understanding of Development Control Plans as they relate to traffic impact assessments and car parking.
- Experience in preparing or reviewing swept path plans.
- Understanding of SIDRA intersection modelling software.
- Experience in preparing Road Safety Audits (or the desire to learn).
- Ability to work well both autonomously and within a team environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
