Civil/Development Engineer – Broadbeach Office

 

Barker Ryan Stewart currently has a Civil/Development Engineer position available in our Broadbeach office to assist with providing development engineering, certification and project management services for a wide range of subdivisions and infrastructure projects.

The role provides an exciting opportunity to grow within our certification and project management teams and can potentially lead to becoming a Registered Certifier for subdivisions.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provision of development engineering, subdivision certification, and project management services.
  • Carry out civil engineering works compliance inspections.
  • Project management and construction supervision for a wide variety of road infrastructure and subdivision projects.
  • Work towards becoming a Registered Certifier for subdivisions.
  • Meeting with clients, councils, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to successfully deliver projects.
  • Review and apply relevant engineering guidelines and QA documentation.
  • Review, interpret and assess DA consents and design drawings.

About you:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ development engineering, project management or contractor works experience for a council, consultant, or civil contractor.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relevant qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Council’s Engineering Guidelines.
  • Experience with and good understanding of the subdivision approval process in QLD.
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience and knowledge working with relevant legislation including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021, State Environmental Planning Policies, Roads Act 1993 and Local Government Act 1993.

Barker Ryan Stewart currently has a Civil/Development Engineer position available in our Hunter Valley office to assist with providing development engineering, certification and project management services for a wide range of subdivisions and infrastructure projects.

The role provides an exciting opportunity to grow within our certification and project management teams and can potentially lead to becoming a Registered Certifier for subdivisions and a TfNSW Project Verifier.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provision of development engineering, subdivision certification, TfNSW project verification and project management services.
  • Carry out civil engineering works compliance inspections.
  • Project management and construction supervision for a wide variety of road infrastructure and subdivision projects.
  • Work towards becoming a Registered Certifier for subdivisions and a TfNSW Project Verifier.

Town Planner / Senior Town Planner

 

Barker Ryan Stewart currently has a Town Planner / Senior Town Planner position available in our Ballina office location to assist with an exciting and challenging range of planning and infrastructure projects.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of planning and infrastructure projects across locations in both NSW and Queensland. We are looking for a candidate who will fit well with our planning team and is keen to grow and develop.

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake town planning tasks on projects, both in the office and on site.
  • Provide planning services which are fit for purpose, practical, cost effective, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and comply with WHS and Quality Control requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of quotations and Tenders.
  • Proactively plan, manage, coordinate, track and run assigned projects.
  • Provide regular project reviews and reporting to your applicable Manager and Directors as required.
  • Provide technical advice to management, staff and clients.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policies and regulations associated with town planning and urban development.
  • Liaison, coordination and management of clients, sub consultants, authorities and contractors.
  • Assign and check work of technical staff assigned to work on a project.
  • Review and check town planning and urban design related information prepared by others.
  • Undertake site inspections.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings.

 

About you:

  • University Degree in Planning / Town Planning or equivalent, recognised by The Planning Institute of Australia.
  • Minimum two years previous town planning experience, experience in another consulting position would be advantageous.

Civil Engineer/Designer – Any Office

 

We currently have a Civil Engineer/Designer position available in any of our office locations to work on infrastructure and subdivision projects that we are involved in.

The position is available in either our Sydney, Central Coast, Hunter, Coffs Harbour, Northern Rivers or South East Queensland office locations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of civil engineering designs and reports for subdivision bulk earthworks and road and drainage, including OSD and WSUD.
  • Preparation of civil engineering designs and reports for building projects, including bulk earthworks, car parks and stormwater drainage (OSD and WSUD).
  • Preparation of civil engineering designs for Council road and drainage infrastructure.
  • Providing designs which are fit for purpose, practical, cost effective, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and comply with WHS and Quality Control requirements.
  • Preparation of Bill of Quantities.
  • Work closely with engineering team members to clarify design and/or documentation issues throughout the design, documentation and construction phases.
  • Proactively plan, manage, coordinate, track and run assigned projects tasks.
  • Provide regular project reviews and reporting to the Design Manager and Directors as required.
  • Provide technical advice to management, staff and clients.
  • Undertake site inspections as required.

 

About you:

  • Certificate III in Drafting Trades, Diploma in Civil Engineering and/or University Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Australia, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years previous civil engineering design experience desirable but not essential.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge and experience using 12D and Civil 3D design software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Drains and Music software.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Senior Civil Engineer/Designer – Any Office

 

We currently have a Senior Civil Engineer/Designer position available to assist with growing our design team and to work on our subdivision, development, and council road infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of civil engineering and infrastructure road designs, specifications, models and supporting documentation.
  • Providing designs which are fit for purpose, practical, cost-effective, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and comply with WHS and Quality Control requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering team members to clarify design and/or documentation issues throughout the design, documentation and construction phases.
  • Reviewing the work of draftspersons designs, information, drawings and documentation.
  • Provide technical advice to management, staff and clients.

 

About you:

  • Certificate III in Drafting Trades, Diploma in Civil Engineering and/or University Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Australia, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years previous Council, Transport for New South Wales and/or Department of Main Roads (Queensland) road infrastructure design experience.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with 12d and/or Civil 3D design package.
  • Strong road and infrastructure design skills.
  • Ideally based in Northern NSW or South East Queensland.
