Welcome to the Barker Ryan Stewart (BRS) and Pulver Cooper & Blackley (PCB) summer newsletter for 2019/20! 2019 was a big year for us culminating with PCB amalgamating with BRS. We are now working together as one team with the increased capacity and capabilities to better serve you with the successful delivery of your projects. In this newsletter, we feature four projects that we are proud to be involved with. Our first project involves us undertaking the survey and design of 8km of Bangalow Road as part of the Safer Roads Program for Byron Shire Council. Our second project is a summary of our involvement on the School Infrastructure NSW Statutory Planning Panel and an outline of some of the education infrastructure projects that we have been involved with to date. Our third project is the $180m Castle Towers expansion project for QIC which will transform Castle Towers into one of Australia’s leading retail, entertainment and leisure centres. We have been engaged to provide RMS project verification services associated with this project. Our fourth project is Deicorp’s Tallawong Station Precinct (South). This is a significant residential, commercial, and retail development adjacent to the Sydney Metro Tallawong Station. We have been engaged to provide traffic and transport engineering and town planning services. BRS has applied to the Building Professionals Board to become a Corporate Subdivision and Strata Certifier. We now have five Accredited Subdivision Certifiers including Garry Ryan, Glenn Barker, Chris Borg, Peter McCallum and Daniel Restuccia. We have created a new blog series titled ‘Women in the Property and Infrastructure Industry’. For our first profile, we feature Mackenzee Beckenham, who is our Bid Coordinator and an Assistant Project Manager. Mackenzee offers some insights into her career progression to date and her current roles at BRS. We’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for using our services throughout the year and we look forward to continuing to work with you in 2020 and beyond. From all of us at BRS and PCB we hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. Cheers, Glenn Barker Managing Director

| | OUR ACCREDITED CERTIFIERS | |
Our strata and subdivision certification capabilities have recently expanded with more of the BRS team becoming Accredited Certifiers under the Building Professionals Board (BPB). We now have five Accredited Subdivision Certifiers including Garry Ryan, Glenn Barker, Chris Borg, Peter McCallum, and Daniel Restuccia. Our Certifiers are currently accredited under the following categories: B1, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7, C12, C14, C15, C16 and D1 under the NSW Building Professionals Act. This allows our Certifiers to issue Subdivision Works and Compliance Certificates as well as act as the Principal Certifying Authority for State Significant Developments. Garry Ryan is also an Accredited Strata Certifier and can issue Strata and Complying Development Certificates. As we now have more than four Subdivision Certifiers, we have applied to the Building Professionals Board (NSW Fair Trading) to become a Corporate Subdivision and Strata Certifier. This will further enhance our ability to deliver our certification services on larger subdivision projects by enabling more than one person to issue the Part 4A Certificates, particularly where we act the Principal Certifying Authority. There is still a common misconception by some in the industry and some Councils in particular about what a Subdivision Certifier can or can’t do with respect to certifying road and drainage works that will be dedicated to Council on registration of the Final Plan of Subdivision. As Accredited Subdivision Certifiers we are legally accredited under the Building Professionals Act 2005 to issue Subdivision Works Certificates, undertake inspections of subdivision works, and issue Compliance Certificates for road and drainage works that will be dedicated to Council. If you have any queries about how we can assist with providing strata and subdivision certification services for your next project, please do not hesitate to contact Daniel Restuccia on 9659 0005. | |
