Welcome to BRS’ Autumn 2019 newsletter.
 
In this newsletter the four projects that we feature include the development of community facilities, residential apartments and townhouses, commercial/retail facilities, a medical centre, and childcare centres.
 
In the first project we are engaged by Cumberland Council to assist with obtaining approval for the modernisation of four (4) of Council’s Swim Centres. We are providing a number of our services, including managing a team of other consultants to successfully deliver this project.
 
Both our second and third feature projects are mixed residential/commercial developments located at Civic Way, Rouse Hill for Deicorp, and Grange Avenue, Marsden Park for The Bathla Group.
 
Our fourth project is ‘Akuna Vista’ which is a new community consisting of 1,100 residential lots, a retail precinct, primary school, regional sporting hub, and recreation facilities being developed by Defence Housing Australia.
 
We’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of our clients for the continued use of our services and their support.
 
Although our Survey team is celebrating its first-year anniversary, it is backed by a wealth of experienced surveyors and survey drafts people! BRS is one of the leading providers of RMS project verification services in NSW. We have, or continue to act as an RMS Project Verifier on over 25 projects within the past few years. In this newsletter we give a bit of an overview of what is required to successfully complete an RMS project under a Works Authorisation Deed. • Muswellbrook Residential Subdivision – The provision of surveying and civil engineering design services for a 500+ lot residential subdivision for Stages 16-18 and Stages 19-32.
• Mount Irvine and Bowen Creek Road, Blue Mountains – The provision of a ‘fit for purpose survey’ to provide survey data for our engineers to develop a concept fire trail design for the upgrade of the dilapidated track along Mount Irvine and Bowen Creek Road.
• Goorangoola Road, Bridgman – The provision of surveying and design services for the proposed upgrade of this rural road. Due to geotechnical constraints, our survey team provided survey data and advice relating to the changes in the rock face that occurred during construction and its impact on the future road widening boundary.
• Ocean Palms Close, Wamberal – The provision of a detail survey of the site and selected adjacent lots for a proposed medical centre and residential subdivision.

The 5 things you need to know about RMS WADs

A Works Authorisation Deed (WAD) is a formally executed agreement between a property developer and the NSW Roads & Maritime Service (RMS).

The agreement enables the developer to undertake roadworks on a State road, and/or install traffic control signals.

Private developers must liaise with RMS when their development may impact the NSW State road networks, and the Council assessing the development application will normally forward the proposal to RMS for comment READ MORE.
