Kings Forest is a 869ha real estate and housing development site near Kingscliff, in NSW. The site will provide housing for an estimated 11,000 new residents in an idyllic coastal location. The development is expected to be one of the largest projects for new housing and employment in the Tweed Region for the next 25 years, and will be critical in providing much-needed homes in the Northern Rivers area amongst a statewide housing shortage.
The State Significant Development approved in 2012 will include approximately 4,500 residential sites, a Town Centre, two Neighbourhood Centres, commercial and mixed-use land as well as 200ha of land for the local Council and 180ha of land allocated for environmental protection. This is located a stone’s throw from the Tweed Valley Hospital, due to open mid-2024, and is less than 20km from the QLD border. It is expected to be a thriving hub of activity and a focal point in an already highly sought after region of NNSW.
As part of the works, there will be 68 hectares of land set aside as compensatory habitat to threatened species in the area as well as 83,000 koala food trees planted. Environmental Protection and Management Areas surround the residential zoned land, and with views to Wollumbin (Mt Warning) to the west the future residents will enjoy a combination of nature and coastal living.
Barker Ryan Stewart was appointed Principal Certifier for Kings Forest in August 2023, and has been providing certification services by way of Subdivision Works Certification, Compliance Inspections (alongside Tweed Shire Council), general Principal Certifier services and will be issuing future Subdivision Certificates. The wider team is made up of the proponent, designer, various expert consultants, Council and Barker Ryan Stewart, and we are working together to deliver a high-quality subdivision for many to start calling home in the near future.
