Barker Ryan Stewart would like to acknowledge the esteemed accomplishment by the construction company Liang O’Rourke in winning the Australian Construction Achievement Award for 2016. Barker Ryan Stewart worked as a consultant for this exciting project by providing RMS project verification services.
The project consisted of the complete relocation of the Australian Military’s Moorebank barracks to a new location, with the original 190 hectare base being demolished and updated facilities being constructed at the new Holsworthy site. The advanced layouts and modern buildings are impressive and it’s easy to see how this project has received such a commendable and highly competitive award when reflecting on the completed works.
The project was also delivered ahead of time and budget while being under major time and security constraints as during the process of demolition and building of new facilities the Military continued to work out of the phased constructions.
This project has provided a new high standard with the Chair of the judging Panel Chris Stoltz commenting “This year’s ACAA winner showcases the outstanding achievement of the best-of-the-best and provides a new benchmark for design excellence, construction innovation, and leadership of high performing teams.” A huge congratulations to Liang O’Rourke and all the teams that worked on this project over the 3 years.
