Civil Engineer/Designer – Northern Rivers or South East Queensland Office Locations

We currently have a Civil Engineer/Designer position available to assist with growing our design team and to work on our subdivision, development and council road infrastructure projects. The position is available in our Northern Rivers or South East Queensland office locations.

Key responsibilities:
  • Preparation of civil engineering and infrastructure road designs, specifications, models and supporting documentation.
  • Providing designs that are fit for purpose, practical, cost-effective, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and comply with WHS and Quality Control requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering team members to clarify design and/or documentation issues throughout the design, documentation and construction phases.
  • Reviewing the work of draftspersons designs, information, drawings and documentation.
  • Provide technical advice to management, staff and clients
About you:
  • Certificate III in Drafting Trades, Diploma in Civil Engineering and/or University Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Australia, or equivalent.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with 12d and/or Civil 3D design package.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with DRAINS and MUSIC design packages
  • Strong road and infrastructure design skills.

Senior Town Planner/Town Planner – Northern Rivers or South East Queensland Office Locations

Barker Ryan Stewart currently has a Town Planner / Senior Town Planner position available in our Northern Rivers or South East Queensland office locations to assist with an exciting and challenging range of planning and infrastructure projects. 

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of planning and infrastructure projects across locations in both NSW and Queensland. We are looking for a candidate who will fit well with our planning team and is keen to grow and develop.

Key responsibilities:
  • Undertake town planning tasks on projects, both in the office and on site.
  • Provide planning services that are fit for purpose, practical, cost-effective, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and comply with WHS and Quality Control requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of quotations and Tenders.
  • Proactively plan, manage, coordinate, track and run assigned projects.
  • Provide regular project reviews and reporting to your applicable Manager and Directors as required.
  • Provide technical advice to management, staff and clients.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policies and regulations associated with town planning and urban development.
  • Liaison, coordination and management of clients, sub consultants, authorities and contractors.
  • Assign and check the work of technical staff assigned to work on a project.
  • Review and check town planning and urban design-related information prepared by others.
  • Undertake site inspections.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings.
About you:
  • University Degree in Planning / Town Planning or equivalent, recognised by The Planning Institute of Australia.
  • Minimum two years of previous town planning experience, experience in another consulting position would be advantageous.

Graduate Civil Engineer – Digitise Consulting, Powered by BRS, Sydney CBD Office Location

Digitise Consulting, Powered by BRS, is growing and seeking a highly motivated Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team and support our Digital Engineering team. As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will primarily support our Digital Engineering services, including advisory, design, and delivery for infrastructure projects. You may also assist our Asset Management team by generating asset data and reports for project handover. 

You’ll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge digital and engineering software platforms such as 12d Model, Revizto, Revit, Navisworks, Solibri, and more. The successful candidate would ideally start in early February 2026, but this can be flexible for the right candidate.

  • Collaborating within a small, innovative team and contributing creative solutions to enhance project design and delivery. 
  • Playing a key role in shaping and expanding an emerging consultancy.

About you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. 
  • Experience in engineering for infrastructure or building projects is advantageous. 
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement. 
  • Familiarity with digital and engineering software platforms such as AutoCAD, Revizto, Navisworks, Solibri, and BIM Track is desirable but not essential. 
  • Understanding of large-scale data management and proficiency in programming languages such as VBA, C++, Python, or SQL is highly regarded.
