Barker Ryan Stewart assisted The Hills Shire Council with the provision of civil engineering design services required for the Green Road and Showground Road intersection upgrade.
The project included the upgrade of the Green Road and Showground Road intersection by adding a free-flowing left turn and bus-only lane, to help improve the existing traffic flow and cater for anticipated higher traffic densities.
The design issued by Barker Ryan Stewart met project compliance and resolved spatial issues associated with adding an additional lane in a highly constrained road corridor. Significant utility relocation and management were required to ensure the design was feasible and fit for purpose. The project was delivered to Council on time and budget, whilst maintaining high-quality deliverables.
The full scope of services included:
– Utility services investigation,
– Services relocations including water, electricity, street lighting and communications,
– Detail design of proposed intersection layout and preparation of construction documentation,
– Traffic signal design, and
– Structural design and advice.
