The 3 Industrial Road Medowie development falls under a part of the Hunter Regional Plan – a strategy for LGAs in the Hunter Region to accommodate for an anticipated population growth of almost a hundred thousand over the next two decades. The plan revolves around sustainable growth and sequenced planning and infrastructure, creating and bolstering communities for the challenges and changes to come.
As Medowie has been identified as a growth area in the Port Stephens LGA, it has its own growth strategy with five key principles. 3 Industrial Road fulfils the requirements of principles 3 and 4 – rural residential character must balance with urban developments, and developments must have a neutral or beneficial effect on water quality with no increase in flooding impacts. 3 Industrial Road will be subdivided into 5 residential lots and also allow for the construction of an industrial building.
Barker Ryan Stewart was contracted by Port Stephen Council to provide project management and engineering services for 3 Industrial Road. We provided cost estimates, as well as concept stormwater, road design, and soil and water management plans, and a preliminary plan of subdivision.
