Byron Music Festival is an event celebrating the region’s music and arts community, organised by locals, for locals.
Held over three days in June, this year’s Byron Music Festival brought the local community together to celebrate culture and Country by supporting iconic and emerging artists of Bundjalung Country. The main event was held at Dening Park overlooking Main Beach at Byron Bay.
The inclusive, all-ages, community event showcased the incredibly diverse musical talent of Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers region, alongside offering exciting activations, children’s entertainment, markets, charity stores and fundraisers for local organisations.
This year’s line-up featured an abundance of local talent including Groove Terminator, JK-47, Resin Dogs, Emily Lubitz, Carvana Sun, Gimmy & The Spring Rollers, and Hussy Hicks – amongst many other talented performers.
The festival is a leader in Green Festival Management within the region, working alongside partners including Earthed Consulting, Green Music Australia, and Positive Change for Marine Life to create an eco-focused event. This included making the site plastic-free and hosting a post-festival community beach clean-up event.
Barker Ryan Stewart provided a Review of Environmental Factors which supported the application to use Dening Park for the main event. The Review of Environmental Factors detailed how the event could be hosted without causing environmental impacts consistent with the festival’s sustainability goals. We are proud to have assisted this community-minded event supporting local creatives and businesses.
