Biodiversity certification addresses the potential effects of land use change on biodiversity during the early planning stage. The certification process identifies areas that can be developed after they are certified and measures to offset the impacts of development.
This application relates to the rezoning of 27.2 hectares of land at 285-325, Pacific Highway and (part) 6W Kemira Road, Lake Munmorah from RU6 Transition and RE1 Public Recreation to R2 Low Density Residential, RE1 Public Recreation, C2 Environmental Conservation and SP1 Infrastructure.
Barker Ryan Stewart is the lead consultant (planning, engineering and surveying) responsible for the rezoning process for the Lakes Ridge development. Barker Ryan Stewart engaged Kleinfelder as the Ecologist to prepare the Biodiversity Certification Assessment Report, and Wedgetail Project Consulting as the Environmental Consultant to prepare the draft Biodiversity Management Plan.
As part of the biodiversity certification process, the applicant has made the application available and invited the public to make submissions on the application.
The Biodiversity Certification Assessment Report (PDF 24 MB), draft Biodiversity Management Plan (14 MB) and Biodiversity Certification Application (3.2 MB) for the land at Lake Munmorah are available for public consultation.
Interested persons are invited to provide submissions on the certification application. Submissions are to be received by no later than 5pm on 27 January 2023.
